One of the things I enjoyed about working at Disney Publishing Worldwide was the sheer range of styles and techniques each movie's book programs would require, especially when a new Pixar movie was in production. It was an education and a challenge at the same time.

These covers ("The Wrench Book", "Welcome to Radiator Springs Tattoo book, "Around the Bend") were vector art illustrations.

The two following illustrations were from a "Character Gallery" book calling for a  digitally rendered "natural media - pastel" look.
